CdMX
We explored a small corner of Mexico City on our way from Guanajuato to Morelos.
We said goodbye to our community in San Miguel de Allende. It was a glorious 11 weeks there, surrounded by great people, neighbors, culture, Spanish and more.
We took the super cush ETN double decker bus direct to the SW corner of CDMX, an area called Sante Fe. Unlike others who might travel to the city for the food and museums, we took a Gavin/Talan approach - go for the fancy car dealerships, Go Carts, and KidZania. We got a hotel within walking distance of these places, and walked about 20 miles in the 2.5 days we were there.
The Bus

Lucky for us, the bus dropped us off at a mall right next to Toys R’ Us and Chuckee Cheeses. Talan’s been dying to go to one for years, so we dropped off our bags and spent some time there. It was everything he dreamed of - just lots of arcade games.
Meanwhile, I had been eyeing up buying a drone, and there was a DJI store in the same mall. So I got to check out the new toy, and ultimately decided to buy it! It’s a small drone, but has cool features that follow you, don’t require a controller, and capture moments easily with hand gestures. Thanks to David from RoamBase for showing me his!
Ciudad de Mexico
The city sure was a city - traffic galore, skyscrapers, and just city life - good for the 3 nights we were there. We stayed in the below tower, but had a convenient grocery store below us, accessed by elevator!
Car Dealerships

Kidzania
Kidzania is a kid-sized city where children try real-world jobs and earn their own money. The language barrier was a bit difficult, but we still had fun there, and the boys ended up spending 4-5 hours there.
Go Carts
Gavin’s been wanting to drive go carts for a long time. It doesn’t seem like the US allows kids to drive. But Mexico does!
Tlayacapan
Now we're in Tlyacapan, a city in the state of Morelos, south of CdMX. I'll post about that next!
